One of the many things that makes CodeCraft one of Colorado’s top-rated coding bootcamps is our dedication to student outcomes that goes well be beyond the classroom. Meredith Rafter, Director of Career Services, is in charge of bridging the learning experience to the real-world job market. Through establishing personal relationships with our students, she helps them define and refine their post-graduation career goals so that she can play a kind of “matchmaker;” making connections between our students and hiring managers within and beyond our growing network of employers in need of junior-level web developers or UX designers.

Meredith’s role is unique in that she gains intimate knowledge of every student and their unique gifts. Meredith divides her time between current students and CodeCraft graduates - meeting with them to discuss their career goals, offering interview advice and coaching, providing tips for resume and cover letter writing, as well as creating their portfolio of work from projects completed in class.

Career Services also includes teaching students the importance of optimizing their LinkedIn profiles, how to fully take advantage of job boards and make use of other resources. While it’s not exactly like working with a recruiter, Meredith’s professional background, including creative/agency work and being a technical recruiter for one of the largest staffing agencies means that she really understands the needs of employers. Another important part of Meredith’s role is continually growing CodeCraft’s employer network. You can also find her attending a variety of networking events, job fairs and demo days to continue strengthening our relationship to the tech scene here in Boulder and beyond, as well as speaking on panels about various industry topics such as “Women in Tech.”

Meredith knows she’s in the right place to make a difference in the lives of people wanting to start a new career in technology. “The campus atmosphere is bursting with knowledge and buzzing with energy,” she says. “CodeCraft is a collaborative learning environment where dedicated and passionate individuals come together to gain cutting-edge knowledge taught by world-class instructors, that will serve as a launchpad into the exciting world of tech. I’m thrilled to be a part of that process and will do what I can to make the transition a smooth one.” Thanks Meredith for joining our team!

Current students and CodeCraft graduates can schedule a meeting with Meredith anytime. Learn more about CodeCraft’s Career Services.
